Kaarlo Hilden (FI)

Kaarlo Hildén is the Rector of Uniarts Helsinki, where he works at the intersection of art, education, research, and society. With a background in music and over 20 years of experience leading cultural and academic institutions, he’s passionate about how we—as artists, leaders, educators, and citizens—shape change, build resilient communities, and reimagine the future through creativity.

Under his leadership, Uniarts Helsinki actively fosters collaboration across disciplines and sectors. Initiatives like the Uniarts Hub pre-incubator programme support artists in developing sustainable, value-driven ventures, bridging the gap between artistic practice and entrepreneurship. Through such efforts, the university contributes to a dynamic creative ecosystem that integrates art into broader societal and economic contexts.
