Tuomo & Markus: Music for Roads, album production in Atmos
Tuomo & Markus have been pioneers in immersive audio production.
Their 2023 release Game Changing was the first album in Finland to be mastered in Dolby Atmos format. This spring (2025), Tuomo & Markus released an instrumental album Music For Roads, recorded immersively at E-Studio together with trumpetist Verneri Pohjola.
The Helsinki-based musicians have also taken the unusual step of using magnetic tape in multichannel audio processing. Game Changing and Music For Roads are believed to be the world’s first Dolby Atmos masters produced using analog methods.
At ODDfest, the band’s founder and composer Markus Nordenstreng will share the origin stories of both albums and give insight into their exceptional production processes.
