Mikko-Pekka Hanski (FI)

​Mikko-Pekka Hanski is a Finnish entrepreneur, investor, and advocate for cultural and social initiatives. He co-founded the design agency Idean in 1999 and remained with the company until 2020. Currently, he serves as the chairman of Yleinen työttömyyskassa YTK, one of Finland’s prominent unemployment funds, and holds board positions at Hanskis Maskin Service Oy, a family-owned enterprise. ​

Hanski is the founder of the Ministry of Good Spirit, a community that brings together positive and responsible individuals, supporting their growth through inspiring events and mentorship. He is also actively involved in volunteer activities, serving as the chairman of the Children and Youth Foundation and as a member of the educational advisory group of the United Nations Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL). ​

In 2022, he joined the Advisory Board of Ukrainian Future, a business incubator of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. His collaboration with Ukrainian Future began earlier that year, co-founding the Ukrainian-Finnish startup support project “Empowering Future Entrepreneurial Ukraine.” ​

Hanski is also the founder of Solovey Music, a Finnish-Ukrainian cultural resistance movement that uses music to unite artists across borders in defense of cultural identity. In collaboration with Finnish vocalist Yona and the band Saimaa, Solovey Music reimagines Ukrainian classics in Finnish, aiming to foster solidarity and shared hope between Finland and Ukraine. Their first single, “Laula mulle laulu” (“Sing Me a Song”), a Finnish interpretation of the Ukrainian song “Обійми” (Obijmy) by Okean Elzy, is set for release on May 9, 2025.
