No one really knows how DJ Borzin came to be. Sure, there are German-Iranian relatives who’ll vouch for the paperwork. And yes, the Hamburg registry office has him on file. But the real origin story? That started at 16, when his heart stopped beating ba-boom and started shouting OPA! OPA! in wild Balkan syncopation.

Since then, Borzin has been a sonic shapeshifter—soundtracking eras, cities, and underground scenes from the golden clubs of ’80s Hamburg to parties with legends like Prince, James Brown, and Run DMC. He doesn’t care about genres, only vibrations. Like Ellington said: “There are only two kinds of music: good and bad.” DJ Borzin plays the good kind. Always.

In 2009, he co-founded Club Balkan Fever Helsinki with DJ Levy, creating a magnetic hub for Balkan beats, global bass, and sweaty, ecstatic dancefloors. Since then, he’s shared decks and stages with heavyweights like Shantel, Gogol Bordello, Fanfare Ciocărlia, Omar Souleyman, Besh o Drom, Gotan Project, and countless others.
