Carla Aakre (FI)

The singer-songwriter Carla Aakre combines the sensibility of indie folk with the diversity of alt-pop, drawing inspiration from life, relationships and the finiteness of existence.

She uses her imagination as a versatile tool in songwriting, seeking to expand upon her creative abilities and pushing boundaries for indie folk/pop music. Her compelling storytelling has attracted international attention – singles ’watercolour’ and ’life’ have been played on playlists such as The Line of Best Fit, alexrainbirdMusic and New Music Discovery, as well as radio stations BBC 6Music, Yle X3M and Radio Helsinki.

The singles are a preview of her debut album, which will be released later this year.
